What We Do It took a while, but after Gusto died (See: Gusto's Story) we realized how lucky we had been. We were not only lucky that she had been part of our lives but we were also lucky that we could make her medical decisions based on her needs, not on what we could afford. So many times people have cats that they take good care of. They can get food, vaccinations, even the occasional toy; but the cat gets sick, or was sick and the symptoms show up. While the family could afford food, they cannot afford the prescription food for a condition. They cannot afford hundreds of dollars for surgery, sometimes not even the money it would take to find out what is wrong. We didn't want anyone to have to make a decision about a loved one based on their ability to pay for the treatment, so we started this organization to help. Mission Our goal is to prevent the abandonment or euthanasia of cats needing special medical care by providing resources to owners who otherwise could not afford the expenses of treatment. We help cats to regain their health and begin living with gusto again. We take donations which we apply toward medical costs of cats with special problems. We provide a place to find information. We are constantly adding links and summarizing new information by researching the sources and provide only the best, most current links. Vision We take donations which we apply toward medical costs of cats with special problems. The owners of these cats could not afford to pay for the additional medical costs associated with their new medical problems. Often these are families on a fixed income who have had the cat for years but cannot afford this new cost. They don't want to lose their friend but the financial reality may force the decision. We provide a place to find information. We are constantly adding links and summarizing new information. There is so much information, and much of it is contradictory, that we research the source and provide only the best, most current links.
